Women in the Workplace Conference 2016

12th December 2016

On Wednesday 30th November, Work Avenue, held their fifth annual Women in the Workplace conference – a one day event aimed to inspire and support women seeking employment and those already in work. A line-up of successful businesswomen held presentations throughout the morning, providing advice on a wide range of business and employment related topics. This included a session from Louise Jacobs, a well-known member of the local business community, Vice-Chairman of the UJIA (United Jewish Israel Appeal) and previously CEO of the LJCC (London Jewish Cultural Centre) – entitled Networking for Dummies. Debra Gold, founder of home styling company, Declutter Refresh, held a session on how to dress for workplace success.

Commenting on the event, Emma May, Head of Employment at Work Avenue, said: “This year’s Women in the Workplace Conference was a huge success and we are delighted to have been able to bring so many successful business women together to advise and inspire those looking to enter the workforce or turn their idea into a successful business.

“Approximately 35% of Work Avenue’s job seekers are women, from those starting out in the working world, to those looking to develop their career or returning from a career break. Advice from industry experts is invaluable for these women, and events such as this, which allow likeminded individuals to network and share ideas, are hugely beneficial.”
