In-work Support

Our brand new in-work support initiative provides dedicated support to people who are working or about to start a new role. The purpose of the in-work support programme is to improve retention rates within the community and support professional development. The programme will provide a range of services aimed to support those at the start of a new job and those who have been in-work for a while, but may be facing a new challenge or thinking about next steps.

Starting a new job?

Starting a new job is a really exciting stage full of opportunities to develop your experience, upskill/train in new areas and meet lots of different people. At the same time, any new start is an adjustment and inevitably you may have some questions about the work you are doing or wonder how best to blend in with the office culture.

We have developed a brand new workshop and written guide to help you navigate the start of your new role through harnessing your soft skills and giving you the best chance to create a positive experience for yourself and your employer.

  • Evening Workshop: Succeeding in your new role: An engaging peer to peer workshop for those within the first two years of a new job.  An interactive session facilitated by Work Avenue’s advisers with great networking opportunities. To sign up for our next in-work support workshop click here.
  • Written guide to succeeding in your new role: Practical strategies on how to approach the opportunities and challenges you might face whilst settling into a new role, building professional relationships and feeling comfortable in a new working environment.

Watch our interviewee to employee webinar for some great tips on making a successful transition into your new role.
