We are delighted to launch our first ever Work Avenue Finance Month – a series of free workshops and webinars throughout May to help small business owners take control of their financial future.
Aimed at anyone who is thinking of starting a business, wishing to scale or looking to run their company more successfully – the events will cover all finance needs.
Work Avenue CEO Debbie Lebrett said: “At Work Avenue, we have many clients currently running, or thinking of starting, small businesses who turn to us because they feel overwhelmed by the financial side, unsure how to plan budgets and/or wishing to raise investment.
“If you are in that position, then please join us for Finance Month by taking part in any, or all, of our events. They are designed to equip you with the tools and knowledge to build a solid financial foundation for your business success.”
The Finance Month schedule is:
Tuesday 7 May from 9.30am (online) – Demystifying the Business Plan
This interactive workshop is a guide through every section of a business plan, from defining a vision to creating financial projections. No prior experience needed.
Thursday 9 May (in-person) – The Sounding Board
This monthly collaborative forum of like-minded business owners gives a chance to share ideas, develop strategy and work through challenging issues. The topic for May is ‘How to Keep Control of Your Finances’.
Thursday 16 May (in-person) – Growth & Investment: Navigating your Business Finances
This half-day conference is the flagship event of Finance Month and will take a deep dive into the essentials of growing a business and making smart financial moves. The event will feature a panel of investors – including Jonathan Werth of JDBi, Jonny Plein of YASO and impact investor Glenda Levin – speaking about what they and others look for before putting their money into any start-up or business. There will also be expert-led sessions from those who have built their own successful small businesses and a chance to network over coffee and cake. Debbie said: “Please join us for candid conversations, practical tips and expert advice to help you steer your business towards success.”
Tuesday 21 May (in-person) – Don’t be Scared of the Numbers
This how-to session will look at using a cashflow forecast effectively. The ‘bible’ of any business, a cashflow forecast spreadsheet is essential for keeping records of income and expenses and useful as a planning tool for growing and scaling a business.
Thursday 30 May (in-person) – Money Mindset: Balancing Personal & Business Finances
Aimed at those at any stage of their business journey, this will help teach strategies to protect income, boost profits AND feel empowered, confident and in control.
All of this is backed by the free one-to-one advice sessions offered by Work Avenue’s team of expert business and employment advisers.
