Thank you to everyone who helped us raise a record £1,106,251 during our 36-hour online crowdfunding marathon. An incredible 2,688 donations were made, with 1,766 coming from new donors.

In total £1,106,251 was secured, including funds from a number of matchers who agreed to double every penny received, making it the most financially successful campaign in the charity’s history.

Work Avenue CEO Debbie Lebrett said: “This successful crowdfunding campaign is a powerful confirmation of what we can achieve together. This is demonstrated by the trust and enthusiasm shown by our supporters. This will ensure that Work Avenue and its essential services can continue serving our community. I am incredibly proud of our team and deeply grateful to all our donors.”

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Work Avenue aims to help everyone earn a living with dignity, to provide for themselves and their families – no matter their age, background, career stage or where they live.

The charity, which has supported more than 40,000 individuals and families, says demand for its services has never been greater, with people facing financial, employment and business challenges brought about by recent economic turmoil, the cost-of-living crisis and the new threat to jobs from AI.
