These Terms & Conditions apply to all freelance consultancy and project engagements facilitated through Work Avenue’s Freelance Agency model. By engaging in a project through this model, both client and freelancer agree to the following terms.
This agreement is made with the understanding that the client is engaging Work Avenue in a business-to-business (B2B) capacity, and therefore consumer protection regulations, including rights to refunds under consumer law, do not apply
-
Our Role
Work Avenue acts as the administrative and project facilitation partner between the client and the freelance consultant. This includes:
- Coordinating contracts and terms of engagement.
- Ensuring clarity of scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Managing invoicing and payment on behalf of the freelancer.
- Remaining involved throughout the project to support both client and freelancer as needed.
Work Avenue does not employ the freelancer but facilitates the engagement under our freelance umbrella.
-
Project Scope and Changes
Each project will have a bespoke Project Proposal that outlines the scope of work, deliverables, timeline, and day/hourly rate.
- The agreed scope must be approved by Work Avenue before the project commences.
- Any changes to the scope (e.g., additional work, time extensions, revised deliverables) must be agreed in writing and may result in revised fees.
- This protects against scope creep and ensures fairness and transparency for all parties.
-
Invoicing and Payments
- All invoices will be issued by Work Avenue on behalf of the freelancer.
- Generally, The Work Avenue take a small fee – 10% of the total invoice
- Clients must not pay freelancers directly.
- Invoices will reflect the agreed scope, rates, and any approved amendments.
- Payment terms: 14 days from the date of invoice, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Late payments may be subject to statutory interest and/or administrative fees.
-
Communication and Oversight
- While in some cases clients and freelancers are encouraged to communicate directly to manage day-to-day project delivery, Work Avenue must be copied in on all major updates, confirmations, or scope amendments.
- Work Avenue will remain available for check-ins, troubleshooting, and quality assurance throughout the engagement.
- Use of AI Note-Taking Tools – Discovery and consultation calls may be recorded and transcribed using an AI-powered note-taking tool (such as Fathom) for the purpose of maintaining accurate records, summarising discussions, and identifying agreed actions and next steps. These recordings and notes are used internally by The Freelance Agency/Work Avenue only and are not shared with third parties. By participating in a call, you consent to the use of such tools for these purposes.
-
Liability and Professional Standards
- Freelancers engaged through Work Avenue are expected to work to a professional standard and in line with the brief.
- Work Avenue is not liable for the output or actions of the freelancer, but we will work with all parties to resolve any issues quickly and constructively.
- Unless you notify us otherwise in writing, you agree that we may reference the work completed for you and display your logo and/or project as part of our portfolio, marketing materials, and case studies
-
Termination
Either party (client or freelancer) may request to end the engagement early. This must be done in writing, with at least 5 working days’ notice unless otherwise agreed. If a freelancer for any reason cannot continue or terminates – the work will be passed over to a new freelancer with no extra costs to the client.
Payment will be due for all completed work up to the termination date.
