Kisharon Langdon UK have an exciting opportunity for an Informal Educator to join their growing team in North London.

About the Role:

As part of the Brady team at Kisharon Langdon, you will be involved in planning and delivering exceptional after school clubs, holiday schemes and online activities for young Jewish people who face difficulties in learning and socialising. 

As an Informal educator you will use learning that occurs away from a structured, formal classroom environment. You will be part of the Kisharon Langdon Brady team that provides a welcoming, inclusive environment that focuses on the aspects of learning that is based on social activities, conversation, and interaction. Activities range from arts and crafts to sports, music, dance, drama, cooking and basically anything else that is fun and allows our Members to practice their behaviour in a social environment.

Due to the nature of the role you must be able to work evenings, weekends and school holidays. There is an opportunity for flexibility for hybrid working, and part time working would be considered.

Key Responsibilities: 

• To ensure Kisharon Langdon delivers on its ambition to develop an exceptional Youth Service

• To develop and deliver an imaginative activity programme

• To assist the Youth Services Manager in the supervision of staff, volunteers and guests

• To actively build and maintain relationships with young people, their parents and carers

• To develop links with community organisations 

• To collect and analyse feedback from our Members and parents

• To fulfil organisational tasks, e.g. tidying our store room or sourcing refreshments

About You:

Educated to GCSE level including Maths and English, you will have experience of working within social care and/or education settings. NVQ level 2/3 in youth work or equivalent is desirable but not essential, as is experience of working with children and/or young adults who have a learning, social or physical disability. With outstanding skills in developing key stakeholder relationships, you will be creative in planning engaging sessions and confident in running them. An understanding of issues relating to disability and the ability to work as part of a diverse team are required.
