We are seeking an inspirational and experienced Head of Kodesh to lead and develop our Kodesh provision across the school. This is a key leadership role for an ambitious educator with a passion for Jewish education, a commitment to excellence and a deep understanding of Orthodox Jewish values.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the Kodesh curriculum, drive high standards of teaching and learning, support and develop staff, and work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to secure outstanding outcomes for pupils. They will play a central role in shaping the school's spiritual life, leading assemblies and key events, and ensuring that our Orthodox Jewish ethos is reflected in every aspect of school life.

Applicants should have a strong track record of successful teaching and leadership, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability to inspire pupils, staff and the wider school community. Experience within a Jewish school setting and strong Kodesh knowledge are highly desirable.

Person Specification:

Qualifications and Training:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

• Evidence of sustained professional development, including leadership training (e.g. NPQSL/NPQH or equivalent)

• Strong subject knowledge in Kodesh studies and Jewish education

• Safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake)

Experience:

• Significant and successful teaching experience, with evidence of strong pupil outcomes

• Experience of leading a subject, phase or team, with measurable impact beyond own classroom

• Experience of curriculum design, implementation and evaluation

• Experience of coaching, mentoring and developing staff

• Experience of contributing to whole-school improvement and strategic planning

• Experience within a Jewish school or strong understanding of Orthodox Jewish education (desirable)

Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to articulate and deliver a clear, ambitious vision for Kodesh education

• Strong understanding of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment and their impact on pupil progress

• Ability to use data and evidence to inform strategic decision-making

• Skilled in leading teams, holding others to account and developing staff capacity

• Secure knowledge of curriculum design, sequencing and progression

• Strong organisational and operational leadership skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire

• Ability to build effective relationships with staff, pupils, parents and governors

• Secure understanding of safeguarding, inclusion and pupil welfare

• Strong cultural and religious literacy appropriate to the school community
