Government Minister Pat McFadden wowed by Work Avenue visit

Work Avenue was honoured to welcome Pat McFadden MP, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, to our offices and Wohl Enterprise Hub.

The Secretary of State and his team met with Work Avenue CEO Debbie Lebrett, trustees Moshe Morris and Maurice Golker, and our employment and business advisers.

They discussed the challenges people face in finding work, changing careers and starting or growing a business, and how Work Avenue supports them through practical one-to-one advice, workshops, events and the WE Hub workspace.

The Secretary of State also met a range of Work Avenue employment and business clients, including individuals receiving guidance on career transitions, CV development and business growth. He visited some of the entrepreneurs in WE Hub to see their cutting-edge work on everything from planning consultancy and product development to digital marketing and AI adoption.

Throughout, he was impressed at how Work Avenue helps clients at every stage of their journey from first-time jobseekers to experienced professionals and entrepreneurs, building long-term confidence and financial independence for people to support themselves and their families.

The Secretary of State told the Jewish News: “I really enjoyed my visit. I think what the people are doing here is fantastic. I can’t praise it highly enough.”

Speaking afterwards, Work Avenue CEO Debbie Lebrett added: “Pat McFadden’s time with us was a real endorsement of the practical, hands-on work we do every day. It was a chance to show how we help people not just into jobs but into sustained employment and growing businesses, giving them the skills, confidence and support they need to succeed.”
