Janine explains, “Running my own business is rewarding and challenging. At times, it can also be a little lonely and daunting. Rather than seeking out a business partner, I turned to Work Avenue for support.
My business adviser, Jo, is excellent. Not surprisingly, I have been seeing her regularly for many years since our first meeting in 2018. She understands my values, and provides valuable strategic input, helping me to visualise where I want the business to be in the longer term, while breaking down into bitesize, accessible chunks what I need to achieve in order to get there.

I am really happy with what I do; my business provides me and my family with an income, and it allows me to learn and grow in so many areas: interior design, finance, project management, marketing, branding, client interactions and communication. Actually that last item – communication – is the inspiration spurring on my current studies towards becoming a Non-Violent Communication facilitator. I see communication as being key to any good relationship and interaction. I’m certain that my good communications skills are the reason why I have worked with the same wonderful professionals over the course of several years; such longevity cements trust and enriches experiences, all of which contribute to the best outcomes for my clients.
