New Year, New Career: January Events to Boost Your Job Search
Whether you are looking for your first job, returning to work or wishing to take that next step in your career – join us this month for the Work Avenue New Year, New Career (NYNC) programme.
NYNC is an entire month of employment events and interactive workshops, including our flagship Coffee, Cake and Career morning.
Taking place at WE Hub, in the heart of Finchley Central, all events are free and you can sign up for as many or as few sessions as you wish.
NYNC begins on Wednesday 10 January with the Making It Happen workshop. This new event is designed to help you get into the right mindset for job-searching and set achievable goals take control, manage your mindset, create an action plan and ultimately secure your next role.
That is followed on Monday 15 January by a session entitled Feeling Confident in Your Job Search – teaching the vital people, social and communication skills needed to appear positive and upbeat when looking to secure a new role.
Topics covered will include body language, eye conduct, listening, presenting and social and emotional intelligence.
On Thursday 18 January, we are running our popular and updated CV workshop. Our team will help you create a contemporary and elegant CV, match it to the specific role(s) on offer and market yourself effectively with it.
The Coffee, Cake & Career morning, on Wednesday 24 January, is designed so that you can meet with our employment team and find out more about the live vacancies on our jobs board.
Together with our team, you will have the opportunity to review suitable vacancies,
receive advice and begin the process of applying for that dream job.
Attendees are asked to pre-book a 20-minute slot, in order to maximise their time with us effectively.
The New Year, New Career programme ends on Monday 29 January with the Choosing Your Perfect Career event.
Aimed at those who aren’t quite sure what their next step will be, this interactive and engaging workshop will help look at all the different suitable career paths and options available.
