Marketing Manager – Limmud

HOURS OF WORK: 0.6 FTE (3 days a week, with openness to flexible working setup)You will also be required to attend some out of hours/off-site/weekend meetings and be on-site for all of Limmud Festival 2024 (including preparation days known as “set up”).

ABOUT LIMMUD: Limmud is a pioneer of cross-communal, non-denominational and intergenerational Jewish learning, organised and run almost entirely by volunteers. Limmud supports volunteer development by providing training and mentoring. Teams of Limmud volunteers, supported by the central organisation, create events around the UK including Limmud Festival (20-25 December 2024), our flagship residential event, which has historically attracted more than 2,500 participants.


As the Marketing Manager for Limmud, you will play a pivotal role in a small but dynamic staff team, collaborating closely with and empowering volunteers to ensure smooth, consistent, and effective management and delivery of the organisation’s marketing and communications function. Your mission is to drive the strategic planning and execution of marketing and communications campaigns for Limmud’s year-round activities and Limmud Festival and ensure that all marketing communications, whether from the staff or volunteers, are consistent with Limmud’s visual identity and aligned with Limmud’s values and tone of voice.This position will lead and manage marketing volunteers and deliver marketing campaigns towards agreed goals. By ensuring all marketing and

communications are strategic and data-driven, you will enhance Limmud’s reach and impact and increase engagement with our programmes. The Marketing Manager will play a key role in growing participation in Limmud’s programmes as well as raising its profile in the wider UK Jewish community.


Strategy and Planning

• Develop an integrated marketing and communication strategy across owned, earned and paid media platforms with support from Limmud Executive team volunteers

.• Uphold and evolve comprehensive organisational brand guidelines for the organisation.

• Develop strategies to engage new and existing audiences around Limmud values and programmes.

• Clearly articulate Limmud’s marketing and communication plans to staff, the Limmud Executive, the Board of Trustees, and other key stakeholders.

• Offer clear direction and leadership in marketing and communications across the organisation.

• Explore marketing innovations including new channels and opportunities to develop Limmud’s brand and create marketing efficiency i.e. generative AI. Management and Delivery of Marketing and Communications

• Manage Limmud’s marketing, branding, and communications efforts comprehensively across the organisation.

• Oversee the recruitment, management, and training of all marketing & communications volunteers, including the Limmud Festival Marketing team.

• Oversee commercial social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn.

• Manage Limmud’s public relations and press relationships.

• Develop and execute marketing campaigns using both traditional and digital formats for all Limmud programmes and initiatives.

• Produce essential marketing materials in print, digital, and video formats, with the support of volunteers.

• Lead the creation and direction of videos, reels, social media feeds, with the support of volunteers.

• Implement processes to ensure timely and effective promotion of Limmud programmes, adhering to budget constraints.

• Establish systems to monitor ticket sales/revenue and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.

• Provide robust performance reporting, analysis of campaign performance and data led insights that translate into improvements.

• Ensure all marketing activities align with Limmud’s brand values and positioning.

• Ensure the website content is consistently up to date, with the support of volunteers.

• Represent the organisation professionally to stakeholders, maintaining and enhancing our reputation.


The successful candidate will demonstrate the following attributes:

• At least 2 years’ experience in marketing, communications, or similar roles. Capable of planning and implementing digital marketing strategies, audience engagement, and data-driven campaigns.

• Ability to lead volunteer teams. 

• Highly organised, committed to detail and takes pride in their work.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, under direction or on their own initiative. 

• High level of planning and organisational skills, managing multiple projects simultaneously. 

• Experience in team management and project planning.

• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with volunteers, partner organisations, and other stakeholders.

• Good working knowledge of image/video editing tools such as Canva and social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn).

• Experience of using analytics products to evaluate the effectiveness of communication campaigns and marketing strategies.

• Understanding and reflecting Limmud’s values and principles in work and interactions.

• Proficiency in IT, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases.

• Creative, proactive, and solution-focused, with an ability to anticipate and resolve issues.

• Willingness to work flexibly to meet team and organisational needs.


• Volunteer management experience or volunteering experience.

• Interest in Jewish education, culture, and/or Jewish community.

• Experience in marketing in Jewish charities or organisations. 

• Experience using generative AI to increase marketing efficiency
