Paperweight is looking for a creative, professional, and organised Marketing and Communications Coordinator with outstanding interpersonal skills to manage our marketing campaigns and to work with our Ad Agency in the creation of Paperweight’s advertising, marketing, fundraising and events materials. The ideal candidate will be proactive and will be our internal and external champion and researcher of anything that can advance Paperweight. Being part of a small, dedicated team gives the right candidate the chance to make a profound and lasting impact on the future of the charity and on the lives of those we support.

This successful candidate will raise and enhance the profile of Paperweight across the Jewish Community, organisations, referral agencies, Local Authorities and individuals beyond. And very importantly enhance our profile to our current and future donors. The role will include working collaboratively across the organisation and with our Ad Agency.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Strong vision

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organisational and project management skills

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels

• A self-starter able to act on initiative

• Proficient user of all Microsoft packages

• Understand how to interact with AI to enhance your writing skills

• Social media

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Experience in a comparable role in the charity sector

• Copywriting experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Monthly calendar for internal and external reports, newsletters and Paperbytes.

• Analysing opening stats for emails / newsletters etc

• Create, manage and be proficient with regular engaging content for social media.

• create a bank of client case stories and caseworker stories. Create a variety of angles to present them in the most interesting / intriguing / heart pulling / purse opening way !

• Identifying press opportunities and responding to relevant news headlines

• Being active and re-active with comment and editorials to be disseminated via press releases, advertorials, social media, newsletters, website, etc

• Associating Paperweight’s work with current news events, Big Social Issues of the Day.

• Supporting senior leaders in crafting communications on their behalf that are clear, relevant, and timely, in both planned and reactive (and sometimes crisis) situations.

• Assist with events as required.,

• Collaborating with our designers on managing and updating the website and creating new content.

• Manage event brochures.

• Collaborate with staff and committee members to create content for event materials

• Create materials to support Patronage

• The Annual Racker Community lecture presentation – Arranging Expert speaker / Panel discussion on Social Welfare Paperweight related issues. Developing it to become an important communal event.

• Liaise with Staff / caseworkers / clients themselves where appropriate, for organisational updates, creating soundbites, eg “ A day in the life of Paperweight”, “ Who we have helped today” – to be used for social media and newsletters.

• Assist in the organisation of meetings and taking Minutes as necessary

• Webinars

• Undertake appropriate training.

• Undertake such other duties that occasionally fall within the purpose of the post.

Strategic Thinking / New Initiatives:

• Future focus of advertising campaigns and editorials. Planning and creative content.

Building Relationships with:

• All Jewish Press

• With Synagogues and their lay leaders ( Yom Kippur Appeals )
