£2,000 (incl of pre tour planning and travel time)

This is a fixed term contract to include pre-tour planning, plus the trip to Europe 15th to 28th July 2024.

Job Purpose:

o To take the lead, as part of a professional team, be responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of all participants and leaders throughout the Europe Tour.

o To develop an educational journey for the trip

o To train the madrichimot to understand the journey and support them to write peulot (educational sessions)

o To create an educational chovret (educational resource book) to support the trip

o To deliver tour guiding in an engaging and dynamic way whilst on the trip.

Responsibilities Before Tour:

  • To create the choveret
  • To run leaders training seminar with the movement workers. This will be Half day on 2 April and a full day on 1st July 2024
  • Plan the educational activities for the tour
  • Offer support and feedback on others sessions

On the Tour:

o Lead and support the Tzevet (team) on the tour, ensuring they are effectively mentored and supervised to ensure they are creating and maintaining a safe, supportive and nurturing space for all on the Tour.

o Act as an advisor; working with the senior team on the Tour to help leaders work through leadership and chinuch (education).

o Meet with leaders and senior team on tour daily to discuss how the education is going and the overview of the tour. Make changes if required.

o Work with the senior team on tour to develop and maintain suitable structures for supporting leaders so that they can in turn support participants appropriately.

Post Event:

o Submit a full evaluation of the tour in general by the beginning of September. 

Person Specification (Essential):

  • Successful track record of minimum 3 years working within Jewish education
  • To have delivered education to young people aged 14-18 in an informal setting
  • The ability to communicate effectively and dynamically in written and verbal form
  • To have confidence, warmth and creativity to deliver engaging tour guiding
  • Experience and knowledge of how to handle confidential information appropriately
  • The ability to make quick, decisive decisions in urgent or critical situations, and to carry these through
  • This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check
  • Availability for dates of the Tour including pre-Tour training
