Evening Receptionist- Jewish Marriage Council

The Jewish Marriage Council is looking for Evening Receptionists to cover shifts on an ad hoc basis. 

Main Duties:

1    To receive clients and members of the Council attending meetings/sessions at the Council, in accordance with security procedures laid down.
2    Responsibility that rooms are ready and available for counselling sessions and meetings and that after use they are ready for the following day's activities.
3    Ensure that water and tissues are replenished in counselling rooms.
4    To be the last person to leave the building after checking that all windows, internal and external, and doors are closed and alarm set and to ensure that all confidential papers are put away and filing cabinets are locked.
5    To be aware of the confidential nature of all work at the Jewish Marriage Council and act with discretion at all times.
6    To understand the telephone system and listen to any messages on the answerphone.
7    To complete the check list at the end of every session, noting any significant events (ie non-attendance of a client or worker, unlocking cupboards for files, etc)

Other areas of work:
1    To complete various tasks, i.e. photocopying, shredding, telephone work, clerical work as instructed by members of the JMC staff.
2    Ensure that all messages for daytime members of staff are passed on.

Qualities needed: Applicants will need to be respectful and sensitive to the observances of all members of the Jewish faith.  They should dress appropriately for an agency open to the whole spectrum of the Jewish community, i.e men should wear a kippah and women wear skirts.
Sometimes the agency is very busy and therefore it is essential that the receptionist can work under pressure.  Applicants need to be flexible, reliable and available to work Monday to Thursday between the hours of 5.00 and 10.00pm. 

Training & Supervision: Full training will be given, including the opportunity to "shadow" existing receptionists.  You will be responsible to the Office Manager of the Council.  You will also be briefed before each session of any specific requirements.
