Medical Receptionist & Administrator- The Brook Surgery

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Medical receptionist/ administrator to join a lovely family run Private GP practice. There are many aspects of the role which will develop as you gain more experience and there is opportunity for growth in the future for the right candidate. Experience in a Private medical setting with good all-round medical experience is a bonus but not a must.
You must be confident, well presented and polite with an articulate and professional telephone manner. Highly organised and able to work under pressure, you will have exceptional interpersonal skills and be dedicated to providing the best possible service to our patients. You will be able to work as part of a team but also independently under your own initiative.

Hours
Monday: 9-7pm
Wednesday: 9-5.30pm
Tuesday and Thursday : 12-7pm
Fri: 8.30- 6.30pm
Flexibility over holiday time is a must
Sat Morning: 9.30-12.30 every third Saturday only

Job Description
•    Answering the telephone and taking messages
•    Checking emails
•    Making appointments and updating patient records using a computerized diary software
•    Management of doctor’s diaries
•    Booking and liaising with insurance companies re medicals etc
•    Updating patient records
•    Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
•    Helps maintain office supplies inventory by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
•    Keeps office equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; calling for repairs
•    Dealing appropriately and professionally with enquiries from patients
•    Maintaining a filing system and patient notes
•    Taking payments
•    Dealing with incoming and outgoing post
•    Scanning
•    Good typing speed
•    Some basic transcribing (not essential can be taught)
•    Other Admin duties as requested by Doctors

Requirements
•    Experience of working in a private healthcare environment and previous reception experience a bonus.
•    Computer skills are required in Microsoft including Outlook and Excel.
