Director of Youth & Students - Reform Judaism

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone with strong commitment, inspiration and drive to lead our youth and student teams. Our ideal candidate will have a high level of understanding and experience in progressive Jewish life and practices.

We are looking for a Director, with the experience and determination to support and lead our Youth and Students teams in developing sustainable strategies for the future.
Managing a budget of £1.3m+ you will proactively oversee the expenditure and operation of our popular camps, tours and student activities.
With your skills and knowledge of youth movements, you will work creatively and supportively with RSY-Netzer and Progressive Jewish Students, empowering the team to plan and produce quality, innovative programmes and events that attract and retain young people.

It is essential that with your eye for detail, you can confidentially and proactively advocate for RSY-Netzer and negotiate with external organisations to ensure the best possible outcome for our participants and Reform Judaism. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Competent PC user able to undertake a variety of administrative tasks
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate experience of:
  • Managing and understanding a significant budget
  • Working collaboratively with a Youth Movement/Youth team
  • Successfully creating and implementing new ideas/programmes/strategies
  • Inspiring staff, volunteers and others to work successfully and creatively
  • Networking and building up excellent working relationships
  • Experience of facilitating groups successfully
  • A depth of Jewish knowledge including progressive Judaism
  • Positively and supportively managing staff whilst professionally managing upwards to Board level
  • Meeting objectives and deliverables within pre-agreed timescales
  • Successfully applying for and reporting on grants and funding
