Start-Up Central 20197th June 2019
This week we were proud to welcome Google’s Digital Garage to our much acclaimed Start Up Central event, where one hundred and twenty entrepreneurs and small business owners took advantage of Google’s expert advice and guidance to go one step further with the application of digital media within their businesses.
Google’s Digital Garage shared their knowledge and experience of using the main digital marketing channels to build a successful marketing strategy, enhancing brand awareness and reaching new customers. There was a lively debate about its application in small and start-up businesses, as well as providing plenty of handy tips and information.
Additional support came from Joanna Michaels, founder of digital marketing consultancy Beyond Social Buzz and accredited Facebook trainer, who led a packed workshop on successfully using Facebook & Instagram for business. The Work Avenue team also led break out workshops on topics of interest to entrepreneurs including sales strategy for start-ups, your start-up business checklist, and so much more.
The event concluded with a fascinating fireside chat hosted by Rebecca Simon, Director of Marketing Strategy at British Business Bank interviewing 2019 Sunday Times Top 100 Innovative Entrepreneur Steven Mendel, CEO and Co-founder of Bought By Many.
Joanna Sadie, Head of Business at Work Avenue, commented: “The range and diversity of our delegates was quite exceptional today. I hope everyone has come away with useful actions and ideas from both the Google presentations and the breakout sessions to help them develop their business.”
Joanna Michaels stated: “We were so pleased to be able to offer advice at Start up Central. Events like this can offer so much to entrepreneurs and small businesses at all stages of their business journey.”
Said Shiri Atsmon, who runs Helpful Kids: “I attended the Facebook & Instagram workshop and found it so helpful. The networking with other like-minded delegates was amazing too.”
Debbie Sheldon, CEO of Work Avenue, commented: “Work Avenue is dynamic in outlook and offers a tremendous service to businesses and people looking to work, grow a business and learn new skills, helping them to earn a living in a challenging world. Start-Up Central showcased this brilliantly with help from Google’s Digital Garage, and of course the amazing Work Avenue business support team. There was a tremendous thirst for knowledge at the event with some great networking conversations and so much positive feedback. Work Avenue will continue to support all the delegates who attended today through our ongoing business advice, our excellent business workshops and shared workspace.”
