Community Support Worker – Radlett Reform Synagogue

Part time: 15 hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, ideally with experience of coordinating a team of volunteers, who can be proactive and creative in ensuring that members are being appropriately supported. With previous experience of community care, together with an understanding of the Jewish Community and external support agencies (e.g. Jewish Care and Social Services), you will support our members and refer cases on where required. 

The successful person must be diplomatic, calm, knowledgeable, able to show discretion and be empathetic. You will also be responsible for recruiting, managing and developing a group of volunteer team leaders, who in turn will be managing their own teams.

Key Qualities:

  • Strong MS Office skills – particularly for database set up and maintenance.
  • Integrity, confidentiality and impartiality
  • Flexibility both in terms of personal approach and working hours
  • Ability to work across differing groups of volunteers, being mindful of demographics
  • Strong personal organisational skills

Desired qualifications:

  • Counselling
  • Professional qualification/higher education in a related subject
