Work Avenue are launching a new and innovative programme for 2019, Empowering Women for Work.
Empowering Women for Work will be working a cohort of women who have been economically inactive and taking them on a multi-disciplinary journey combining modular training in a range of employability skills with dedicated one to one coaching and real work experience in a professional environment.
The programme will be led by Emma May, Work Avenue’s Director of Operations and Employment. She commented: “Our delegates will undoubtedly be diverse. Some will be highly qualified, but having not worked for many years, have lost confidence in themselves professionally. Others still have young children at home and may have never worked before; indeed some of the delegates have no qualifications beyond GCSEs and need help to update their skills for the contemporary workplace.”
Debbie Sheldon, Work Avenue’s CEO added: “Empowering women to build the confidence they need to achieve their goals is something we are passionate about. We know that returning to work or embarking on a job search for the first time can be a daunting experience. We are proud of the fact that we can offer programmes such as this to help demystify the process and assist the community in achieving financial independence.”
