TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF
My career started out in buying and merchandising. After working in Australia I returned to the UK in 2018, which meant a fresh job search.

HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT WORK AVENUE?
I googled Jewish/employment/community, and Work Avenue came straight up. I wasted no time and called up.

WHAT SERVICES DID YOU USE?
I had an initial meeting with one of the employment advisers, Melanie Pearl, and she really helped me to structure my job search. She was a really good and experienced person to talk to when out of work. I really felt that there was some structure to my job search. As well as attending the Job Readiness workshop, which was really helpful, I attended the Charity Central recruitment fair where 30 of the community’s largest charities showcased their opportunities. I got a real sense of Work Avenue being right at the heart of the community. So much better than going through a recruitment agency.

HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY AT CHURCHILL’S?
I was browsing through the Work Avenue jobs board and saw it there. I called Yael Solomons, the Placements Manager, for further details, and within a few days she had arranged an interview with the CEO. Shortly afterwards I had a second interview and was then offered the job.

HOW WAS THE SUPPORT FROM THE WORK AVENUE TEAM?
