Vocational Job Coach - Kisharon

1. Coach, support and assess college students throughout their studies to ascertain their career aspirations, levels of skills, knowledge, learning & work experience and identify any additional support required.
2. Help develop, agree and review individual and meaningful learning plans with each student.
3. Organise and arrange all internal and external taster sessions, apprenticeships and employment placements in line with the curriculum, programme plans and students aspirations.
4. Arrange relevant work experience, employment and travel training for all students in accordance with the vocational programme and their learning plan.
5. Provide an appropriate level of support and guidance to students, their families/carers, employers and co-workers prior to, during and subsequent to placement & process.
6. Support the development of vocational work opportunities and aligned with individual student plans to ensure the greatest learning and reflection during the programme.
7. Provide on-the-job coaching and training to students in integrated vocational work experience settings and enable them to become competent, independent and reach their full potential.
8. Identify and map out detailed travel routes and design travel training programmes. Coach and teach each student how to deal with the unexpected.
9. Review, develop and complete risk assessments where appropriate.
10. Plan, monitor, review and record all student work and outcomes in relation to their employment placements and Numeracy and Literacy outcomes in line with their EHCP, baseline assessment and individual learning plans.
11. Meet agreed targets as set by Line Manager.
12. Attend key meetings and feedback on progress to relevant people and teams
13. Promote the vocational programme and development of career and employment opportunities.

1. Attend regular supervision sessions with line manager, team meetings and undertake relevant training as and when required.
2. Maintain standard of dress that is appropriate to role and in accordance with Kisharon’s dress policy.
3. Work collaboratively with students, their families, staff, volunteers and employers to ensure that their contribution enhances the quality and outcomes of the programme.
4. Maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure respect for and adherence to Kisharon’s policies.
5. Take all reasonable care of the health and safety of her/ himself and of other persons who may be affected by her/his acts or omissions.
6. Undertake any other duties, which are consistent with the post.

 Coaching: Coaching others on how to do something with good outcomes using a person centred approach.

 Education and Training: Knowledge of principles and methods for coaching individuals and groups, and the measurement of coaching outcomes.
 English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language.
 Mathematics: Knowledge and use of basic arithmetic.
 Administration: Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files & records and other office procedures.
 Communications: Knowledge of communication techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform via written, oral, and visual media.

 Knowledge of human behaviour and performance: individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation. Knowledge of group behaviour, dynamics and cultures.
