Senior Fundraiser- UJIA

For nearly 100 years UJIA has been building meaningful connections between the UK Jewish community and the people of Israel. Fundraising generates £11m annually and enables our work to flourish and our mission to be realised. Generation after generation of UK Jewry have benefited from UJIA programmes that nurture lifelong connections to Israel, whilst in Israel itself, our educational and welfare initiatives impact tens of thousands of lives each year; transforming communities, increasing social mobility and building cohesion.

Organisational Position
The Senior Fundraiser will be responsible to the Head of Canvassing and Major Gifts and will be part of the Canvassing and Major Gifts Team.

Key Work Objectives
  • Canvass donors (£500 plus) and secure annual donations from UJIA portfolio and bring in new donors
  • Successfully build and sustain the lay leadership
  • Successfully build and maintain relationships with donors
Main Responsibilities
  • Secure annual donations and work to targets set by the Canvassing and Major Gifts Team
  • Successfully build and maintain existing relationships with key donors by telephone canvassing and face to face meetings
  • Identify key donors to be approached for major gift giving (£10,000+)
  • Present project proposals to key donors
  • Identify and regain (£500 plus) donors who have lapsed in their giving
  • Identify individuals who could join a UJIA event or programme committee
  • Successfully build and sustain a good relationship with lay leaders
  • Participate fully in other activities and events of the Fundraising Department and UJIA in general
  • To be flexible with work assignments
  • To be willing to work evenings and weekends as required
  • To ensure that appropriate confidentiality is adhered to
  • To understand the responsibilities of working as part of a team
UJIA head office, 1 Torriano Mews, London, NW5 2RZ, with occasional travel to regional and Israel offices.
Hours of Work
Regular office hours are 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Thursday, Fridays 9am-1.30pm. This role will involve
work in evenings and on Sundays outside of normal office hours.
