Job Description:    

We are a four partner general practice in the Finchley Central area, looking for a qualified accounts senior (ACA/ACCA) to join our busy team. Audit experience is very much welcomed.

Person Specification:    
Candidates must have a relevant qualification (i.e. ACA/ACCA qualified). We will consider exam qualified as a minimum.
Candidates should have extensive experience of preparing statutory and management accounts. This will also include having a good knowledge of the current reporting standards (FRS102/105/UK GAAP).
Knowledge of preparing accounts for charities and/or LLPs is welcome, but not a prerequisite for the role.
Previous exposure to preparing Corporation tax returns is required.
Candidates should be able to work on their own or as part of a team and also to help develop junior members of staff.
All team members are client facing and therefore must have good communication skills and act in a professional manner at all times.

A more detailed job description is as follows:
• Plan, carry out and assist with the preparation and completion of accounts at client’s premises or at our offices for Partner or Managerial review
• Depending on experience – leading/assisting on statutory audit engagements
• Ability to adapt approach to preparation of accounts depending on how the client’s information is presented. i.e. from software (Sage/Quickbooks/Xero etc) or from client’s written records
• Completion of periodic and statutory accounts under UK GAAP & FRS102/105
• Completion of accounts preparation programmes
• Bookkeeping and/or VAT return work when required
• Preparation of personal tax returns when required
• Other tax tasks e.g. capital gains computations, P11D returns
• Completion of money laundering documentation
• Ensure correct disclosures in accordance with Companies Acts
• Ensure work is carried out promptly and efficiently within budgets and deadlines
• Identify possible improvements to client systems
• Plan, organise and prioritise work
• Contact at appropriate level with clients and their staff
• Assisting the Partner/Manager in the planning and completion of accounts work
• Ability to investigate technical queries
• Main software packages we use are CCH Suite, Excel, Sage, Xero
