Job Description
To generate funds from a variety of donor levels through organising activities such as mailshots, challenge events, fundraising events and one-to-one canvassing with Major Donors. Raising funds through grant making trusts and foundations will be done in conjunction with the Keren Malki team in Israel. Part of this role will be developing relationships with these trusts and foundations in the UK.

This job requires you to work in partnership with Trustees to find, recruit, involve and inspire new Trustees to come on board. Together with the Trustees, you will create and run a  calendar of exciting fundraising activities and events, which will raise funds for the charity and get wider exposure for the Keren Malki Foundation in the UK.
A key part of the job will be to research major donor prospects from the existing database and work on developing and nurturing relationships with them, which may include arranging visits to Israel to see the work of Keren Malki.
Working with the office in Israel, you will also research new trusts and foundations and develop relationships with people who are connected to trusts and foundations and assist with the writing of proposals.
This job also requires you to develop and manage all the administrative systems, including database, donations, Gift Aid returns and banking.

Person Specification
This job is for a person who can “do it all” which will give you the flexibility to be innovative, create your own systems, prioritise and be hungry to raise money for this fantastic cause. You will be intelligent, able to think quickly, laterally and imaginatively and get on with the tasks at hand.
You will have had at least three years’ experience as a professional or volunteer in building relationships through fundraising or marketing or sales or special needs service delivery
You will have had experience of operations and organisation, including database, timelines, correspondence, filing and basic financial numeracy.
It will also be helpful if you come with a connection and knowledge of Israel and the UK Jewish Community.

You will be excellent at building, developing, nurturing and managing relationships with Trustees, donors and potential new donors.
You will need to be an excellent, persuasive and clear oral communicator on the telephone and in person. You will be presentable and credible and inspire trust at all levels
Self-confidence is important and, as a good fundraiser, you will be resilient, focused and calm.
Working a lot of the time on your own, you will have to have the ability to be entrepreneurial, to plan and manage your own workload effectively and be proficient in all Microsoft Office programmes and especially Excel.

The salary for this position is £35,000 per annum with a pension contribution after one year’s service. This is a full-time position although part-time will be considered and PT salary will be on a pro-rate basis. It will be based in NW London and will require some travel in and around the UK and occasional travel to Israel.
